How we verify clinics
Before a clinic carries our Prescriber verified mark, we confirm it works with a real, currently AHPRA-registered prescribing practitioner. Verification is free for every clinic and is never tied to payment - a paying clinic can be unverified, and paying never changes what the mark means.
What "Prescriber verified" means
- We have confirmed the clinic's prescribing practitioner holds current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner.
- We checked their standing on the register - whether any conditions affect prescribing.
- We recorded the check and its date, and we re-check at least annually.
What it does not mean
- It does not mean the business is a doctor-owned or doctor-led practice. Many telehealth clinics partner with a registered prescriber - that is legal and common.
- It does not verify treatment outcomes, pricing, or that any therapy is right for you.
- It is not medical advice. Suitability for any prescription-only treatment is decided by the prescriber after an individual consultation.
How we run the check
- 1We verify the doctor, not the clinic. We require at least one named prescribing practitioner.
- 2We check the AHPRA public register: the name matches, the profession is Medical Practitioner, and the registration is current.
- 3We check standing - any conditions, undertakings, or reprimands that affect prescribing.
- 4We record the registration details and the date of the check, and show that date on the listing.
- 5We re-check at least annually and when a clinic renews. If a prescriber departs or registration lapses, the badge is removed.
Named, verified, or listed
Named + verified
The prescriber is named, so you can look them up on the AHPRA register and confirm it yourself. We show a name when the clinic already names the practitioner publicly, or when the practitioner is happy to appear here.
Verified (unnamed)
We confirm the registration and show the date we checked it, but hold the practitioner's name privately. You are trusting our process rather than re-checking it yourself.
Listed
A clinic that has not yet provided a checkable prescriber. It carries no badge - which is neutral, not a warning. We are simply still confirming the details.
Check it yourself
The AHPRA register is free and public. For any clinic that names its prescriber, you can search the name and confirm the registration directly - we encourage it.
Open the AHPRA registerWhat we do not do
- We are a directory - not a pharmacy or prescriber. We do not prescribe, supply, or advertise prescription medicines.
- We do not use patient reviews or ratings to promote clinics.
- We use treatment-goal language only. Specific medicines are discussed with the prescriber at consultation, not advertised here.
Run a clinic?
Verification is free and open to every listed clinic. Share your prescriber's name and AHPRA registration number and we will confirm it - we will not publish the name unless your doctor consents.
